Welcome! My name is Dr. Susanne Huizing, and I am your instructor for SSS 100: Student Success Seminar.
The course reinforces and cultivates foundational skills you need to succeed in the workplace and throughout your lifelong career. You will become career-ready when you transfer the skills, we discuss in SSS 100 to your other courses at STC. We will also discuss:
- Campus resources
- Cocurricular learning opportunities
- Academic planning so you can make the most of your college experience.
SSS 100 class is an in-person course. All course information, announcements, content, readings, and assignments will be located in myTech. Attendance is required. No textbooks are required. I will be providing the materials you will need for this class. Whenever you have questions, click on the left side of the screen to find technology resources, agendas for each week, and the syllabus. I also am available at your convenience whenever you need assistance via email or by appointment.
You must have the necessary technology, including reliable internet access, and a computer that meets technology minimum standards (including a webcam & microphone). Chromebooks can be tricky, but we will help get you set up on your first day.
Each week, you will be receiving assignments, participating in a discussion, and/or a variety of activities. Your assignment due date for completing assignments will be Sunday night at 9:00pm. This course is not self-paced, so you will have to complete weekly assignments and semester assignments when they are due. Please plan accordingly.
Also note that I am the Director of Student Success & Support. That means I am your go-to Person for any questions or concerns you may have while you are attending school.
