The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) is a free, national online platform that aggregates millions of digitized items (photos, books, maps, etc.) from U.S. libraries, archives, and museums into one searchable portal, offering a unified gateway to America's cultural heritage for education, research (especially genealogy), and general discovery, acting as a "union catalog" for public domain and open-licensed materials.
