Dr. Samantha Mehlhaf is small animal veterinarian with over 10 years of clinical experience. Originally from Nebraska, she completed a B.A. in Biology at Hastings College before earning her DVM at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Samantha has worked in both small animal and mixed animal practices, and retains an affinity for bovine medicine. This is advantageous, as she helps occasionally with the family farming and cattle operation in the rural Menno, SD area. Professional interests include Access to Care and Mentorship. Personal interests include golf, hunting, and travel with her family.

Description

Radiation safety and imaging techniques commonly used in veterinary medicine are covered in this course. Students will become familiar with standard and digital radiography and will practice using live animals. They will also learn about other imaging techniques used in the medical field, such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and endoscopy. Prerequisite: VET 110, VET 118, VET 118L , VET 119 Corequisite: VET 131L
