Description

Because understanding the scope of practice is critical, historical perspective of the career of the Surgical Technologist, and effective and safe care of the surgical patient will be discussed. An understanding of the diagnostic studies utilized to assist in the determination of the best course of care for a surgical patient will be introduced. Legal responsibilities of the health care worker will be investigated. Job duties of the surgical technologist working with operating room equipment in the areas of biomedical science and minimally invasive surgery will be explored. Prerequisite: All First Semester ST/HC Courses Corequisite: ST 120, ST 120L
