After graduating from Augustana University in 2023, majoring in Psychology and Anthropology, with minors in Biology, Neuroscience and Philosophy, Sean began working as a Professional Tutor in the Academic Resource Center at STC. During his time at the ARC, he has helped students with various different courses- Psychology, English, Anatomy & Physiology, and many more. Sean will be teaching his first course at STC in the Fall of 2024.

By far his most favorite part of the job is watching students grow. Sean takes great pride in providing students the tools and skills to help promote themselves and their career, a space for reflection and growth, and acting as a scaffolding to help people achieve a better version of themselves.

Description

Explores how behavioral principles and practices of psychology can be applied in the workplace to help students understand situational as well as individual factors that contribute to workplace behavior. Helps students develop critical thinking skills as well as providing students opportunities for personal reflection in order to prepare them for the realities of the work world. Emphasizes the practical implications of issues such as customer and interpersonal relations, motivation, leadership, learning, development and problem-solving, and stress, attitudes and productivity. The course is designed to help students be successful in today's world of work.
