Description

An introduction to the characteristics of semiconductor devices such as: PN junction, zener and varactor diodes; bipolar, unijunction, and field effect transistors; SCRs, TRIACS and DIACs. Power supply topics include half-wave and full-wave rectifiers, filtering, zener regulation, and series-pass and monolithic regulators. Prerequisite: MECH 114, MECH 114L Corequisite: MECH 123
