Introduces the health information management (HIM) profession and the U.S. health care delivery system; the content, structure, and documentation standards of the health record in paper and electronic environments; introductory legal, ethical, privacy, and security concepts; data quality and governance fundamentals; and common HIM workflows and roles across care settings.
