I graduated from USD with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2009.  I have worked clinically as a dental hygienist since 2009.  

I started at Southeast Technical College as an adjunct Dental Assisting Instructor in 2020 and moved to a full time instructor in 2023.

My office hours: 

Monday: Open Lab from 7:30am to 8:00am.

Tuesday: Open Lab from 7:30am to 8:00am.

Wednesday: Virtual Office Hours from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.  Please contact me using TEAMS or by email. 

Thursday: Open Lab from 7:30am to 8:00am

Friday: 8:30-10:00am and 11:00am – 12:00pm in room 209

Description

This course provides the fundamental background and theory for the safe and effective use of x-radiation in dentistry. It encompasses the history of x-rays, production and uses of radiation, radiographic film, exposure factors, interpretation of radiographs and radiation hygiene. An introduction to digital radiography, occlusal radiography and several other supplemental techniques are also included. Prerequisite: DEN 100, DEN 105, DEN 120 Corequisite: DEN 130
