Industry Experience:

I have 10 years of experience as a Cardiovascular Sonographer at an inpatient and outpatient setting. I was a clinical preceptor during this time, participated in clinical trials, and did some industry public speaking as well. 

Educational Experience:

I graduated from Southeast Technical College with an AAS Degree in Cardiac Ultrasound in 2016. Later, I obtained both my RDCS and RVT certifications. Currently working towards a Bachelor's in Health Sciences.

Description

In this course, students will learn the knobology of the ultrasound machines and basic ultrasound Physics principles that gives them foundational knowledge for obtaining 2D ultrasound images. Students will learn infection control in the medical setting and the ergonomics associated with preventing Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders during Cardiac Sonography Examinations. Students will learn the anatomy of the Heart and surrounding structures in the corequisite course Cardiac Sonography I and demonstrate that knowledge by obtaining Basic 2D images of the heart to include all heart chambers, valves, pericardium, and surrounding great vessels. Prerequisite: HC 117, HC 118, HC 118L, MATH 103 or MATH 114 , CNA certificate or HC 106, PHYS 100
