  • Name the link to remember what it is.
Manage Your Files
  • Create a new folder for each of your classes in OneDrive.
  • Save assignments and class resources to the proper folder.
  • Clearly name documents for easy retrieval.

Check Campus Email DAILY
  • STC email is the primary means that faculty and campus offices will contact you with important communications that can affect your registration, student account, or graduation.

Operating a Mac
  • Installing a printer requires Mac ID as well as STC ID/login.
  • Pages (Mac version of Word) is not readable by the instructor when uploaded into a myTech assignment. Instead, use Office 365: Word.
  • New to Mac? Ask your SSA about the Mac seminar: free and online.

myTECH Course Sites

  • All STC classes have a myTech site where you will find course content, assignments, and the gradebook. See my CURRENT COURSES (menu running down the left of any screen in myTech).
  • Online classes are conducted in myTech.
  • First online class? You will be registered for ONLN-098 for info and resources on navigating online learning. Not registered for ONLINE 098 or would like a refresher to that info? Speak to your SSA.
Accessing Online Learning Platforms

Many classes use additional online learning software to provide resources and class activities, such as C-Now, Cengage, Connect, eLab, Goodheart-Wilcox, Hawkes, MindTap, McGraw Hill.

  • Have you purchased access through the STC bookstore?
  • Can’t find a purchased access code? Contact the bookstore.*
  • Don’t mix up the letter O and the number zero when you type in the access code.
  • Have you set up your profile?
  • Course key: find on myTech course site or ask instructor.
  • Many platforms have a limited-time free trial. After that, you must purchase an access code through bookstore.
  • Still no access? Contact instructor to reset section/password.
  • More questions? Google the phone number to Customer Service for your online learning platform.
  • * Always save your receipts and plastic wrap when purchasing textbooks from the bookstore. The plastic wrapper often has the access code on it. Don’t have your receipt? Check your email. The bookstore emails a receipt to the student when electronic sources are purchased. Can’t find that? Ask the bookstore. They may still be able to help.

Uploading and Submitting Assignments

Many assignments need to be downloaded, completed by you, then uploaded to myTech for submission.

  • Clearly name/save downloaded assignments to your course folder to easily find them again when it’s time to submit.
  • Save/rename/close completed assignments. Then upload that document for submission. Without this step, you will upload the blank assignment template.
  • Open the Assignment in myTech or other Learning Management System. Upload and submit your document.
