JumpStart Days help new students become more familiar with Southeast Tech. The main goal of JumpStart Days is to help new students be prepared for the start of school. New students are required to attend JumpStart. You can find your JumpStart date on your class schedule. JumpStart activities will include the following:

• Laptop and Technology Orientation
• Program Orientation
• Housing Keys - students may pick up their keys in "The Link" area of the apartment complex

During the Laptop and Technology session of JumpStart, you and your classmates will come to the Technology Center building and have your laptop screened to make sure it meets our minimum system requirements. It is important that if you are bringing your own laptop for school that your laptop meets those requirements in order to install software you will need for your classes. If you would like to purchase a laptop from Southeast Tech, you will need to complete the Laptop Reservation Form. This must be filled out prior to JumpStart week. If you reserve a laptop for purchase from Southeast Tech you can pickup your laptop on your JumpStart day. After your laptop is screened and verified that it meets minimum sytem requirements, you will be directed to a software setup classroom. In that classroom you will be instructed to install a few pieces of software. You may install the software before your scheduled JumpStart day to help expedite the process. Before or during your JumpStart Day, please install each software listed below:

On campus childcare may be available for an hourly rate since children are not allowed to attend JumpStart sessions. Childcare must be arranged with the Scarbrough Center prior to your JumpStart day.
