Description
This course provides an introduction to surgical procedures in various specialties, including gastrointestinal, liver and biliary tract, hernia repair, obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), and orthopedic surgery, with a focus on surgeries of the upper extremity. Students will study the anatomy, pathophysiology, and diagnostic tests relevant to each specialty. The course covers patient preparation, surgical technique, instrumentation, and the use of equipment necessary for these procedures. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the surgical sequence, recognizing complications, and post-operative care considerations. Prerequisite: All First & Second Semester ST/HC Courses Corequisite: ST 111, ST 111S, ST 122L
