Bio information

David F. Kavanagh, M.A.,B.S., has 25+ years of professional experience teaching in a post-secondary setting.  He earned both his Master’s in Sociology and his Baccalaureate in Psychology at the University of South Dakota and he holds a post-secondary credential from the South Dakota Board of Education. David has taught a variety of courses including Social Problems, Marriage and Family, Applied Sociology, Human Relations, and Multi-Cultural Law Enforcement.  In addition, he has experience teaching courses using a wide variety of instructional formats including traditional, accelerated, hybrid, and online.

Description

A sociological analysis of the causes and proposed solutions of contemporary social problems confronting society today. The class promotes student involvement in discussing the subject matter. It is designed to encourage debate and to get students to consider different positions or viewpoints with regard to social issues.
