Description

Lifespan III incorporates knowledge from prior courses and concentrates on the health and illness of the individuals and families across the lifespan by identifying and utilizing patient centered care. Through collaboration with their peers and the use of advanced critical thinking skills, the students will formulate and deliver holistic plans of care by using the nursing process, evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives in a variety of mental health settings. Within this course, the students will learn health promotion, risk reduction, physiological adaptation, pharmacological and parental therapies, nutrition, and basic care and comfort within the context of mental health populations, fostering the development of safe, holistic care plans. Prerequisite: NURS 220, NURS 220S Corequisite: NURS 230S
