Mr. Dustin Pepper

Faculty Bio:

Dustin Pepper, BSN, has worked with cardiology/telemetry patients and currently works in the Intensive Care Unit. He holds many nursing certifications in a wide variety of areas. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University, and is working towards his Master's Degree in Nursing. Dustin has taught numerous health classes at Southeast Technical Institute and holds a post-secondary credential from the South Dakota Board of Education.  He currently works as an LPN instructor.

For the LPN program I am involved in teaching LPN 101 Intro to Nursing Lab, LPN 131 Med/Surg Lab, Med/Surg Nursing I & II, and a variety of clinical rotations. It is so rewarding to work with students as they begin nursing classes and to watch their growth and as they progress through the program.

Description

This clinical includes and expands on the knowledge from prior courses with a focus on health and illness in adults while continuing to utilize nursing diagnoses, nursing interventions, patient outcomes, and the nursing process. Students will use patient centered care, evidenced based practice, quality improvement initiatives, and the LPN scope of practice to provide a safe plan of care. Corequisite: LPN 132
