Students will utilize hands-on learning to understand the importance and benefits of applying sustainable horticulture practices. This course will allow students to enter the workforce with key concepts on how to provide functional, aesthetic, and environmentally sound designs to care for our landscapes. The primary focus will be on landscape maintenance, integrated pest management, soil health, water conservation, local food production, beneficial pollinators, and alternative growing methods. An emphasis will be placed on common industry practices and how they can be improved with a more sustainable approach. Prerequisite: HT 111, HT 111L
