Instructor Bio

Andrew Kibbe, (MEd, CNMT) is an instructor in the Health Core at Southeast Technical Institute. He currently teaches courses in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and other health subjects. Prior to earning a BS in General Studies and a Master of Education degree from South Dakota State University, Andrew graduated from technical medical programs in radiologic technology and nuclear medicine technology while serving in the US Army. Andrew has been a faculty member at STI since September 1994 and is registered by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Andrew currently serves as the program advisor for the Phlebotomy Technician Program.

Description

This course is designed to provide the basic principles of medical word building. These principles, once learned, can readily be applied to develop an extensive medical vocabulary. The textbook is presented with a variety of self-teaching features allowing the student to work through the chapters in systemized fashion that focuses on body systems. Once satisfactorily completed, the student will be able to adequately communicate in the health care industry.
