Description

Provides an introduction to basic electroneurodiagnostic services. Includes history and theory of electroneurodiagnostics, including EEG, PSG and EP. Technologist responsibilities, clinical indications and usefulness to the patient and community are covered. Emphasis is placed on a fundamental understandingof the electrical activity produced by the brain and the recording techniques used to monitor this activity. This course includes an overview of digital recording techniques, international standards of electrode placement, and national governing boards which represent the profession. General terminology of Electroneurodiagnostics will be focused on as well. The corresponding lab will cover the process of measuring for lead placement and lead application for patient hookup.
