Description

In this course, students will gain an understanding of the vasculature of the abdomen to include the Abdominal Aorta and its' branches, the Inferior Vena Cava, and other important veins to the kidneys and liver. The students will learn the normal values for the diameter of the Abdominal Aorta, ultrasound protocols associated with the Abdominal Aorta, and how to determine where the various Abdominal Aorta's branches arise. Students will gain knowledge and understanding of Mesenteric Ischemia, Renal Hypertension and stenosis, and the Portal Venous System, as well has how these are all evaluated during an Abdominal Vascular Sonographic Examination.
