Students may request an appointment in-person or via Teams outside of office hours.
This course will prepare students to sit for the AAPC CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder) certification exam or the AHIMA CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification exam. Students will practice assigning accurate ICD-10 medical codes for diagnoses and procedures performed in the inpatient setting. Students will demonstrate an understanding of current rules, regulations, and issues regarding medical coding, compliance, and reimbursement under MS-DRG and IPPS systems. Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology will be reviewed. Prerequisite: All first, second and third semester coding classes.
