Chad Altwine, brings over 25 years of a technical management experience to the Construction Management instructor position. Chad began his career with a degree in Industrial Management with a minor in Business and emphasis in Construction. He started out as Technical Services Manager in manufacturing and then spent more than 15 years at both state and private Higher Ed institutions overseeing campus operations, facilities, and construction projects. Most recently, he has been working as a college and career readiness instructor.

Description

This course is designed to apply the skills learning in Civil Construction Techniques. This course allows student to apply knowledge to horizontal construction. Students will learn the safety of civil construction and be introduced to concepts for heavy highway and municipal plans. Students will apply basics of surveying and site layout and how that relates to staking, cut/fill and slopes. Students will be exposed to civil construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, soil and aggregate. This course is paired with Civil Construction Techniques for theory development. Prerequisite: CMT 101L Corequisite: CMT 122
