Jean Rose, BS, MA – Instructor in the Business Administration area at Southeast Technical Institute with over 25 years of professional experience that includes the positions of corporate officer and business manager of local businesses. Jean has enjoyed the privilege of being a part of the post-secondary education system in the roles of instructor and advisor. Jean holds both Secondary and Post-Secondary Certifications with the South Dakota Board of Education. As an educator, Jean has taught many business courses such as Principles of Accounting I and II, Introduction to Business, Business Communications and Business Law. Jean has been an integral part in the development of the online Business Administration Program at STI. Jean enjoys teaching in a variety of formats – Onl

Description

This course is an introduction to the basic concepts of accounting. It teaches basic principles of accounting application to service and merchandising businesses in a sole proprietorship environment. This course emphasizes the qualities of a properly designed accounting system including the principles of internal control, subsidiary ledgers, preparation of financial statements, and review of basic payroll concepts. This course also highlights the use of the Excel program throughout the course.
